Working Title: Replacement Scrappy: From YKTTW

The Trek TNG example's not as Self Explanatory as they think, 'cause I can't figure out who they're talking about. The only Scrappy it's got is Wesley, who certainly isn't a replacement...

Duckluck: I think they're probably talking about the show itself for not being the original series, bu yeah, whoever wrote that entry must have thought we were mind readers in addition to nerds. I'm cutting:

"* Star Trek The Next Generation. Anyone with enough nerd culture to know this Wiki exists knows why."

and totally re-writing it. I also cut,

"* Subverted in the Mass Effect series as the developers have stressed that Shepard will be the protagonist for the entire trilogy."

...because if we seriously try to list every series ever to not have multiple protagonists, we'll be here all week

Roland: Aw, from what I heard and saw, Nero's actually quite good (and well-received) as a protagonist. Why is he listed here?

Charred Knight: Unpleasable Fanbase I would recommend cutting it, since he seems well received.

Steel Beast 6 Beets: I dunno. From my own experiences, Nero truly deserves to be here.

Sikon: I thought "Love & Monsters" was shunned for being goofy and over the top, not for barely featuring the Doctor and Rose.

Kinitawowi: Love And Monsters was shunned for about five different reasons; the lack of Rose and the Doctor was among them, but it was a long way behind the crapness of the story, the universal crapness of Marc Warren, the even greater crapness of Peter Kay, the bad guy being designed by a kid who won a Blue Peter competition, the crapness of the bad guy (the kid was apparently disappointed, because his original visualisation had the Absorbaloff being about twice that size), and the sheer Squick of the ending where Elton blatantly gets head from a paving slab. That and the fact that it was Just. Awful.

Man Without A Body: I liked that episode. It was funny.

Hazel: The DC examples, other than Kyle, are almost all Affirmative Action Girl type ethnic characters. Could this maybe be split off into its own trope? Ethnic Legacy Superhero maybe? Their status seems to be frequently tenuous, except John Stewart, who's a supporting character. The DCAU got a lot of flack for making him the Justice League Green Lantern.

Filby: I get that they're replacements, but (aside from Aquanoob) are they really The Scrappy? For my part I found myself enjoying the new Beetle, Firestorm, Question, and Atom far more than the old ones simply because they were new. (Not to mention well-written. And okay, I loved the previous Beetle and Question too; if I could I'd take both of 'em), and I know a lot of other fans feel the same. Heck, I've heard Tad Williams's run on Aquaman wasn't half-bad either... I'm just saying, it sounds like Complaining About Shows You Dont Like, that's all.

Rogue 7: Does this page really need 2 Zero Punctuation quotes? As much as I love listening to the man, two is overkill. Unless someone can come up with a good reason why they should stay, I'll pull the Devil May Cry one later tonight.

Man Without A Body: I think we should get rid of both. It's unnecessarily vulgar, in a non-clever way.

Fly: I agree. Cutting the Guitar Hero quote. I love Yahtzee to tiny pieces but I think he's overused for quotes. I'll see if I can find a more fitting one for this trope.

Vampire Buddha: Cut this on account of making no sense at all.
* Two words: Dick Sargent.
