- Thank you for dismissing my entire state as being idiots. For the record, the "giant reptiles" keep away from people. I've never seen a live wild gator in my 29 years in Tallahassee. If gators were more common, we would move.
- The panhandle's the Deep South. "Florida" as a cultural phenomenon starts somewhere between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach.
- Usually, this Floridian troper likes to say that in Florida, you need to go north to go South.
- And I really appreciate that one too, though my rage is directed at Hollywood and New York as opposed to this board.

- Doom Tay: Alright, I'm getting a bit fuzzy. I tought this covers odd fictional events that happen ot happen in Florida.
- Pisha: Oh, no, weird real-life news happens in Florida all the time. Although to be fair, Floridians don't usually see it first-hand - we hear about it in the news like the rest of the country. One possible explanation is that we get SO many tourists, snowbirds, and retirees that all the weirdness of the other 49 states gets concentrated here... (Also, how is it possible that the above commentator lives in Florida and has never seen a live wild gator?? I mean, I'm not saying they come sauntering through downtown Orlando or anything, but every trip to a park since I was a kid included pointing out the "logs" with eyes chilling in the rivers...)
