KI Simpson: Putting this in here to prevent an edit war: Laughtracks are an example of humor dissonance, humor dissonance is a show hyping something up as funny when it isn't or isn't to the claimed degree. A laughtrack is the show directly telling you that a joke is funny, it's the most blatant example of humor dissonance there is.
