Ununnilium:

  • In the "Island of Illusions" two-parter from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, each of the rangers face their greatest fear and lose their self-confidence until they remember a fight that they won. Some of the greatest fears are pretty weird. Zack and snakes is fine, and Trini's fear of heights was already established, but... Tommy's greatest fear is putties? Even though they did take the place of the other rangers, he's already fought those things numerous times. I mean, he beat them before he even became the Green Ranger. Also... Kimberly's greatest fear is... Bulk and Skull being nice. ...
    • As an alternate theory, maybe Tommy's greatest fear was being abandoned or turned on by his friends, and the putties were just a symbol for that.
    • Nice Bulk and Skull is DAMN scary.

How is any of this an example of an Epiphanic Prison?

Czernobog:

  • I think there's an issue with the wording of the Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World example; the spoiler is only one way of reading the ending of the book, and quite different from the other way of doing so. Is it acceptable to add a note beginning with "alternatively"?
