Working Title: Don\'t You Know What I\'ve Done?: From YKTTW

Grimace: Is this purely a Video Game trope? I ask because I've watched one or two TV Shows that fall under this. eg. Veronica Mars, where the main character utterly humiliates the sheriff / local Rich Bitch / Jerk Jock, etc every episode, but they're right back to underestimating her again next week. It's a bit...jarring.

janitor: Make the more general trope. People who are stuck in just one medium can suck it up.

Grimace: By gum Janitor, you've inspired me. Let convention be damned! Translation: I've added a "TV Series" section. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do otherwise, by all means.

Seven Seals: Took out this:
  • While most people do the little quests early in the game, the structure of Planescape Torment means you can do tiny little quests, such as delivering a message across a mere two screens, right before entering a fortress that no one but you has a hope of surviving in, and even you can be permanently killed there.
This is ubiquitous in [=RPGs=]: most allow you to save just about any quest, even the most trivial, for whenever you feel like it. This trope is about how nobody respects you for your incredible feats, not merely that you can still do menial tasks after those feats. Given the setting of Torment, I found nothing incongruous at people being unimpressed (or most likely ignorant) of what The Nameless One had been doing. Sigil's a big place, and the planes are bigger still. Besides, if we go that way, a much more pressing question would be why people don't fear and respect you for all the crap you pulled in your previous lives (aside from your party members).
Sean Tucker: Added a Warhammer 40,000 reference in the trope description. See if you can spot it.

Grimace: Good ol' Blue Boyscouts. Only 13 points and comes with Bolter, cc-weapon and "infiltrate" ability. Do I get a cookie? >;~P (although, to be pedantic, I think its pretty sure they get respect. Hard not to respect an 8ft tall man armed with a fully automatic rocket propelled grenade launcher).
