Adam850: This = Foregone Conclusion.

Robert Bingham: Foregone Conclusion is mainly about those things that are established well in advance at the beginning of the story, and that come to pass at the end. Doomed by Canon is about how we know that characters in a prequel are not going to succeed in taking out any of the main cast, or about how a character who suffered Death by Origin Story in the original is not going to make it in the prequel in question. At the very most, I would consider this a subtrope of Foregone Conclusion. Besides even if this is cutlisted, the name alone has Doomy Dooms of Doom appeal.

Twin Bird: Nope. It is a subtrope of Foregone Conclusion, and not one worth splitting.
