YKTTW Working Title: Germans Hate David Hasselhoff

Lullabee: The body of the article seems a little skimpy. Please don't hesitate to add to it, at least for the time being. (Right now, it's three sentences.)
Ununnilium:
  • As if Brit-pop was any good AT ALL.

Ah, insulted fans lashing out. It's fun!

Shiho and her perfectly acceptable obsession with Yuuichi, on the other hand, are a-okay.

Speaking of random Take Thats...

  • Can you really blame them for hating T. Hawk? The dude that was supposed to represent their country had more relevance to the United States than Mexico.
  • Ironic considering T. Hawk is considered a relief by some fans for not being stereotypical.

Natter. ``

Ralff:

  • In Japan, Dragon Quest is the best-selling game series ever, with Square-Enix choosing not to release it on weekdays to prevent an epidemic of school-skipping and calling in sick. In the US, it has a small-but-dedicated fanbase.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is Americans Hate Tingle, not Americans Like Tingle A Bit Less.

Rebochan: I can beef it up a little - because not only is Dragon Quest insanely more popular in Japan, it's pretty trendy to bash it in America. I know a lot of people that seem to die a little inside every time a Dragon Quest game comes out.

Does anyone know how the Japanese Project A-ko fandom regards/regarded C-ko? I know that she is loathed in the West (at least in the US) like similar characters are. If the Japanese fandom doesn't/didn't hate her like the American fandom does, she could qualify for this trope.
Willy Four Eyes: That's the second time I've had to pull that block of text from the Gundam entries. This is not a place for complaining about complainers. Keep it on topic, please.
Sports—>Soccer—>American football, "men without the balls to lose the pads and play Rugby (conversely, most Americans don't even know what rugby is)"

Pads only protect from sudden-stress injuries, allowing for players to play/practice longer and harder, resulting in higher overall fatigue and soreness. This Troper is a United States citizen who has always played water polo and never American football (but researches sports medicine like any proper athlete) and would like to know if That Troper thinks that non-bare-knuckle boxers don't have "the balls" to throw away their gloves. In reality, anyone at the top of his or her game for a sport — association football, American football, Australian Rules, rugby, etc. — has enough guts/testosterone/"balls" to laugh off such a silly supposition.

And of course, rugby is fairly common in some sectors of American athletics. All colleges with big sports programs have a rugby team, or at least a club sport. One would be hard-pressed to find an American youth who doesn't know what rugby is.
