TV Tropes: Did it Ruin My Life?

Well yes, but actually no. I first came upon this website a couple of years ago, and I can't remember the circumstances. One thing led to another, and now I'm on it almost every day.

I'm not quite sure if it 'ruined' my life, personally I think it's too soon to tell. However, it did do one thing: It got me to start reading (and writing) fan fiction. See, I always dismissed fan fiction as being childish and/or cringey. And then, one day, while reading a trope entry, I decided to look under the Fan Works folder just because. I saw a Rise of the Guardians fanfic in there, and since I was really into that movie at the time, and said trope (Archnemesis Dad) was one of my favorites, I figured why not. And thus, I was sucked into the world of fanfics. Since then, most of the fics I've read I've learned about from this site, (Child of the Storm, RWBY: Scars), and I've even used the Needs More Love page to give lesser-known fics I like some more attention. I've also written some fics, the most noteworthy of them being a Catradora Troll Fic in the style of Fifty Shades of Grey, which I have yet to actually post online.

Conclusion: TV Tropes changed my life. Oh, and it's also the reason I got into a good chunk of my recent fandoms.

Edit: Actually, it did ruin my life. It lead me to finding a link to the most disturbing Tumblr blog I have ever seen. No, I'm not going to link it in this review. Your soul deserves better.
