I Love it But That's Just Me

So, to be honest this is my favourite movie. I love it. So much. But here is my review.

So, I saw the movie, liked it, read the graphic novels, loved them, watched the movie again, loved it even more. Honestly it's so much better after reading the books. It helps you appreciate where the content is coming from but mainly, it just makes a lot more sense. I recommend, personally, that you read the graphic novels first. It makes the whole experience more enjoyable.. That being said, it's still an amazing movie before reading the books.

So firstly a general synopsis: Scott Pilgrim is 23, living in Toronto. Scott meets Ramona Flowers. Scott forgets he has a girlfriend. Scott dates Ramona. Scott finds out he has defeat Ramona's evil ex boyfriends (exes). Scott attempts to defeat Ramona's evil ex boyfriends (exes).

Firstly I shall talk about casting ASDFGHJKL. It's so good. Making a movie out of a graphic novel must be one of the hardest things. There is already a picture for every character. Everybody already knows what they look like. And if you stuff that up and the live action versions don't look right you will get murdered. But holy cow did they do amazingly. Every single character looks perfect. And all of the actors are so great. They're funny, they're great. Ugh I love them. But I'll talk about Ramona later.

Anyway, now for the script and how well it was adapted from the books. They did very well. But not perfect. Which is fine, you shouldn't expect perfect adaptations ever cause that's impossible. But this movie, the first half of the movie felt like it was taken directly from the first book. and then from there there was lots of changes. But I forgive because there are some things that don't translate on screen. Especially since the books take place over about a year and the movie takes place over a couple weeks.

I have lots more to say but only 400 words so I'll talk about the thing that bothers me. Ramona. Ramona is cast really well. Mary Elizabeth Winstead looked perfect in the role and she is a fantastic actor but I have a huge issue with movie Ramona. In the book Ramona is really cool. She is mysterious and alluring without being stiff and mean. Which ix exactly what movie Ramona is. She isn't that likable so you find yourself not really routing for her.

But that's my review. Just watch the movie, it'll be fun.
