How... how would that possibly fit?!?
He's incredibly well-received, often cited as the best part of the season. He doesn't really get any Character Shilling as people keep harping at him that his ways are wrong, and I haven't seen any sign of him being beloved by the creators.
So at most you could say he gets Character Focus. Which does not a Creator's Pet make.

As far as I'm aware, that has nothing to do with the trope. The trope is about a situation being so dark or characters being so dark that audience members don't feel like they should get invested.
That is a real response to this show. The fact that it's popular despite that, or that it has SOME idealism if you look hard enough isn't the point.

I'd *like* to put Frank Castle in as a Creator's Pet, since I can't deny that he's effectively the second season's deuteragonist and that disqualifies him for Spotlight-Stealing Squad. And at least some reference should be made to the fact that even people who liked the second season more than me agree it's more his show than Daredevil's. But I want to check here first, since, well, I don't want to get into any scuffles.
