Guys, there is a quote I would like to share from a novel called Slaughterhouse Five. The book itself is about World War Two (more specifically the Dresden bombings and being a prisoner of war) and time travel. Hence the quote: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom always to tell the difference."
Rather apt, don't you think?
Happy troping! Sophie Hide / Show RepliesI don't know... it's tangentially related to this game at best. Plus, the quote originally came from Reinhold Niebuhr.
My stories on AO3.Did not know that! Thanks.
Edit: if you are saying the novel is barely related to the game, I agree with you. It is just that that one particular quote seems rather fitting. It is the same with Hamlet: barely related, yet the game starts with a quote from the play. Which goes to show that some themes are universal.
Edited by sophie9709 Happy troping! SophieThe Hamlet quote has the benefit of actually being referenced in the game, though. Does this one?
My stories on AO3.Not too sure actually (too much material to explore). What are you on about anyway? I thought the quote was quite interesting to share due to the plot of the game. If you don't like it then we will leave it be.
(I quite like tangential ideas by the way. I do realise they can annoy people, hence I put it on the discussion and not elsewhere. Hope I haven't ruined your day, sorry.)
Happy troping! SophieYou haven't ruined my day at all! Not even close. I was just under the impression that quotes on works pages have to be actually present in the given work in some way.
My stories on AO3.Of course they have to be! The quote I shared is just an interesting sidenote, something you might find pencilled in in someone's book. That being said however I will not be surprised if it does get mentioned in this game or the possible sequel. Who knows?
Happy troping! SophieCan we just make the Quantum Break page in Will Joyce style talk?
Hide / Show RepliesSelf-Demonstrating? Too many pages written like that end up as unreadable messes, please don't.
