For adaptations in another medium that don't have their own work page (for example, a Live-Action Adaptation of a manga) should the example go under the original medium or the new one? If something has had both anime and live-action versions, should the examples be split up or not?
What are even the rules for adding Awesome Music examples? Why do I have to add context for every single song when I edit, when on the Nintendo pages, for example, all the examples are without any context whatsoever.
Take Super Mario Bros.; the examples in the boxes are merely composed of a link and the title of the track.
Do I need to explain why every song is really cool or awesome? I thought merely providing information on when the song appears in the work/media would suffice.
Edited by hohocrush Worst _ ever Hide / Show RepliesThose Super Mario Bros. examples are Zero Context Examples and aren't allowed either.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAre Awesome Music examples not supposed to be on the main YMMV page? Asking because someone removed the examples from the Joker page.
Are there any requirements for what can get an Awesome Music page, or can we just do it whenever we want?
These pages are so addicting. Is this site supposed to be about the conventions of media- OH MY GOD KOJI KONDO! DO WANT!
Hide / Show RepliesEven if it's true, can we stop saying "since the music is by X, this is to be expected" every time we have this trope? It's a cliche now.
"AXEL ON STAAAAGE!"You know what really bugs me? When a work has its own Awesome Music page, you'll often see this on the YMMV page:
- Awesome Music: Has its own pagenote
I know it's not just done with Awesome Music. I've seen it done with Memetic Mutation and Nightmare Fuel, but seriously? What's the point of putting that in YMMV?
No "Bowser's Fury" questions please. I haven't played it yet.I hesitate to remove the current image (the one with the hands and the lighters) because I haven't the slightest clue what it is. Anyone know?
Hide / Show RepliesIt's what people do at concerts to awesome music, typically Power Ballads. Fits perfectly.
If some people don't know what it means, I'm not so sure it "fits perfectly", though I can't think of anything better.
No "Bowser's Fury" questions please. I haven't played it yet.In the way Nightmare Fuel, Heartwarming and Funny have their own images on a work, could this have an image link like that?
Hide / Show RepliesIt can be hard to find a picture for a song, but if you think you can do it, I think that would be a great idea! However, I would suggest you start an Image Pickin' discussion, just to make sure other tropers agree with your picture.
No "Bowser's Fury" questions please. I haven't played it yet.The Corrupt Corporate Executive link feels like natter bait. I'm surprised it hasn't been taken out yet.
Might I recommend something?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65o3yjvFvyA&feature=endscreen&NR=1
so why is it that we are told this:
"Some of these link to You Tube, so if you wish to listen to them in stereo, add "&hd=1" to the link without the quotation marks. (Or, on the video player, change the resolution to 480p or higher.) If you want to link to a specific part, add the following to the link: "&t=1m10s" and adjust the time accordingly. "
and then are told to remove the fragments two lines down here:
"Note: When posting links to You Tube here, make sure to strip their UR Ls of all unnecessary fragments - the ?v=oHg5SJYRHA0 parameter is the only one needed, really. It's not recommended to post links to Youtube here due to Corrupt Corporate Executive syndrome. It's better to post webpages of artists themselves due to less regional restrictions there. "
Edited by ninjewFor the Awesome Music section... I was actually replacing some dead links for Code Geass and the like on Youtube... and the question I came up with I think applies to all sections:
Should music that is linked, when possible, be the full OST music? or the cut down and edited music used in said movie/show/etc.? Or should we start linking both Full OST music and edited music in each part?
- Full OST Music Advantage: Those that heard it in the movie/show/etc. may appreciate hearing the music in full.
- Edited Music Advantage: Often music is edited in said movies/shows/etc. to emphathize a particular mood or feeling, and in its full version, it often loses that particular focus effort.
- Having both Advantage: Well, you get the best of both worlds, though this requires more work and organization, as well as creating more clutter.
Thoughts?
Hide / Show RepliesWe're not allowed to link to either unless it's officially posted by the rights-holders; it's just not a very well-enforced rule.
Edited by INUH Infinite Tree: an experimental storyCorrect. Linking to stuff that's not posted legally is at the very least a technical copyright violation.
If it is posted legally, then I would try to find a snippet that is as close to what's presented in the work as possible. But that's just my opinion - the previous sentence is an official policy.
Edited by Fighteer "It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Sadly, a number of you tube links are broken, leading to videos retired for the usual reasons, or even to accounts that doesn't exist anymore.
Hide / Show RepliesWell, I usually try to fix broken links I come across, or if there's no substitute, just remove the the link.
Back to the Future's theme? Doesn't that fit this?
Hide / Show RepliesThis trope is subjective. If someone likes it. We can't tell them they're wrong.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova Scotian(Latia): Um, to the person who said to move the bullets of Crowning Music/Music to their own page, I'm REALLY sorry about moving them back. I didn't see your edit. Perdon.
Some of these link to You Tube, so if you wish to listen to them in stereo, add "=18" or "&fmt=35" to the link without the quotation marks. This may negate some of the awesome, but in some cases it may also elevate the song to godlike status. Your Mileage May Vary, so consider this fair warning.
Uh, how does changing the audio quality to 480p and up make the music less awesome? I don't get it. Show me an example of a track that gets crappier with higher audio quality and I will put it back.
Edited by TsundeRay http://twitter.com/raydere | http://raydere.tumblr.comUmm, what? Why was the video game links moved here? Seriously, it's a cluttered mess now.

If Awesome Music is a Sugar Wiki page, than how come Awesome Music subpages don't have the pink and brown color scheme?
