Before creating this page, I contacted the crew, specifically Claire, to ask what she wanted us to use to refer to her in early episodes. The response was as follows:
“Claire isn't 100% sure what the best route to take is in terms of her name and gender ID in earlier episodes, but she suggests leaning toward "Colin" for earlier shows and "Claire" for newer ones, just to avoid confusion when people decide to compare the TV Tropes entries to the episodes mentioned. But she also says that whatever is less of a headache for you is fine—if you'd prefer to just pick something and make it consistent, that's fine too.”
I opted for the former option, using “Colin” and he/him pronouns on earlier episodes where Claire used them. Claire officially began using she/her pronouns and the name “Claire” in Daria Morningstar vs. Don Draper.
