Would the various livestock from Harvest Moon: Animal Parade count as this, since in this game you can ride cows, goats, sheep and ostriches as well as horses? The circus animals might also count, since you can use the elephant, giraffe, hippo and pig to travel instantly to set locations.

In addition, would Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility count, since you can buy and ride ostriches in this game as well as horses?

I think we should split this and make Chocobos, their expys and similar bird mounts into their own trope.
