I'm not sure about the Nightmare Before Christmas example... the music itself is based on Cab Calloway, and the imagery is based on The Casino. If the scene is reminiscent of this trope, I think it's just a coincidence.
No matter what anyone says, I still like the canon version of Infinite. That said,the Sonic In X Minutes version of him is PERFECT
