  • A loose example with the U.S.S. Enterprise. The ship is destroyed in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. By the end of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Kirk & Co. are assigned to a new Enterprise, which by all outward appearances, except for an additional 'A' painted at the end of the registry number, looks to be an exact replica of its predecessor.

This example doesn't really fit the trope. The trope reads as about twins of characters, and it's not that odd a ship could be built to resemble a predecessor from the outside (but with up to date goodies on the inside).

What manga is the trope image from? The panel leaves me curious.

The D stands for Destiny ✰ Rosa Metalglove Dickpuncher (also I just got it from Vampire Hunter D). Hide / Show Replies
