Indeed, it would be weird to have two characters who are listed as foil also classified as birds of a feather. Sounds to me like Not So Different at best.

We should either delete or change it. Does Odd Friendship count? Seems to me like what TitanFireFlies wrote just needs some tweaks and a much more appropriate trope name.

That's exactly the thing to do. Tweak Titan's entry to fit Odd Friendship and list it as that. Since it was your idea, would you like to do the honors?

"Birds of a Feather"? Really? Sorry, but I gotta call stretching the definition on that one. Not only is the post openly admitting the fact that Griffith has many things NOT in common with Guts, but solely tries to put the ONE thing they do have in common: a.k.a. the need to prove oneself, as the deciding factor on why they supposedly share enough similarities to qualify for this trope.
The way I see it, their bond was like any other friendships common in real life, particularly among co-workers: finding common ground despite the myriad of personality differences and working things up from there. It's nothing special. A true "Birds of a Feather" pair has to be a lot more like-minded in both interests and general aspirations in life.
Hell, I dare say that them NOT being similar at all was the exact reason why their "strong" friendship (which, if you think back and observe, was actually fragile in many aspects) ended up crumbling the way it did.
