• Fanon Discontinuity: A good number of people, even those who like the story, elect to consider it non-canon based on its attempted retcon of Sally's backstory — the only thing in the original movie that wasn't ambiguous in any way.
• Memetic Mutation: Sally fawning over the Queen of England as she sleeps for four whole pages, touching her arm before she goes, received quite a bit of mockery in and of itself. Then, when the real-life queen died not a full month later, people joked that Sally had killed her.
• Moral Event Horizon: Dr. Finkelstein is revealed to have crossed it years ago when he traveled to Dream Town to study its dream sand only to then kidnap Sally from her birth parents and making her drink a potion to forget her former life.
