  • Cant Unhear It: Gary Chalk as He-Man and Campbell Lane as Skeletor provide voices that are uniquely distinct from those of their predecessors to the point that sometimes you'll even read lines from other incarnations of the characters in their voices.
  • Complete Monster: Skeletor is He-Man's ever-present Arch-Enemy who desires to conquer the Tri-Solar Galaxy. Immediately becoming the right hand of Flogg, the leader of the Evil Mutants of Denebria, Skeletor uses him in his attempts to destroy He-Man and take over the planet Primus, while openly planning to eventually betray Flogg and take all the power for himself. Creating plans to lower the shields of Primus to allow the Mutants to conquer it, Skeletor, upon briefly taking over Primus, attempts to destroy the village for hiding He-Man from him and planned to destroy the city of Levitan by raising it up with a tractor beam to the cosmos and dropping it to the ground. After being driven off, Skeletor tried to destroy Primus and all life on it several times, first by trying to use Energon to transform Primus into an energy sun and then by trying to move Primus from its orbit to cause catastrophes on the planet. At one point, Skeletor tries to kill off all of the Mutant army, including his supposed Love Interest, and the Galactic Guardians by luring them into a prison ship and attaching a magnetic generator to lure a comet upon the ship. Causing chaos and destruction on several planets, Skeletor stops at nothing in his attempts to obtain more power.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Of the five He-Man cartoons produced, this one tends to be the least liked and the least remembered.
  • Growing the Beard: As MOTU series go, this one began the trend of having a strong sense of continuity and consistent character development, something that would stick for all later series.
  • Magnificent Bastard:
    • "The Siege of Serus": Keto is an asteroid-like creature and the representative of his race. Crash landing on Primus, Keto appears to be completely unstoppable, easily brushing off pretty much all of planet's weaponry and even He-Man's legendary Power Sword. When redirected toward the ocean, he began draining the energy of the underwater city of Serus, leading its barriers starting to crack and threatening to drown the population. Letting the heroes know that he's sentient, Keto announced his intention of draining the entire planet of energy to continue his travel and then manipulates He-Man to going to his ship and fighting him. When He-Man's powers prove useless against Keto, He-Man decides to offer them in exchange of Keto sparing the planet. Keto was impressed with such act of nobility and reveals that all of this was a test that he performed on many other planets to see if the people on these worlds were dangerous to his race. Complementing He-Man on his bravery and goodness, Keto leaves Primus unharmed.
    • "The New Wizard in Town": Ramlin is one of the most powerful wizards in the entire universe, who desired to relieve his days of glory. Growing weaker with his age, Ramlin accepted the invitation to wizard meeting on Primus from Master Sebrian, devising a plan to get all his former power back. Easily defeating the entire faction of Evil Mutants within minutes along the way to Primus, Ramlin tricks the heroes to trust him by performing magic tricks and acting friendly. Setting his plan in motion later on, Ramlin manipulates two wizards at the meeting to give him their magic, enslaving them to his will, before battling the heroes, forcing them to attack him, which he uses to make himself more powerful. After He-Man catch on to this and refused to attack him, not giving him any source for power, Ramlin admits defeat, releases his captives and leaves Primus, promising to return.
