YMMV / Tale of Buffering and Suffering

• Angst? What Angst?: Josh seems to be totally fine with Anais kidnapping him and his unseen boyfriend apparently being tortured.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Almost too many to count.
  • Gumball, Darwin, Banana Joe and Jamie's conversation in the first chapter, which ends with Gumball and Darwin killing Banana Joe and Jamie and is never mentioned again.
  • After Gumball and Darwin attempt to murder Josh, a kid named Eric appears and tries to have a conversation with them. Gumball and Darwin respond by making noises, which somehow causes him to die of despair, and there's a sequence of Eric's family mourning. None of this is ever brought up again.
  • Principal Brown blowing up the school.
  • Gumball is killing his classmates and eating their lunches, when a giant rat comes out of nowhere and eats his lunch. Gumball kills it, eats out of its mouth and sings the Rat King's song.
  • Rob shows up three times in the fic, none of which are important to the plot. Once to inform Gumball and Darwin what his name is only to be kicked down a hole, another time to change the language to Cantonese (which doesn't actually happen), and finally for Gumball to notice him and start talking about him, only for the chapter to end.
  • Gumball murdering Leslie. He even shows up just fine later!
  • While Gumball is trying to get Tobias to slap his butt, K.O., Rad and Enid come out of nowhere to spout gibberish and disappear just as quickly as they came.
  • Gumball's nightmare ends with the narrator telling some random story about "Glosserick".
  • The entire chapter "Anime-Style Fight" is just the fight from "The Fury" inserted in the story for no apparent reason.
  • Half of the chapter "Apologizing" is these, including Darwin flirting with his brother, Gumball telling Alan that he sold his parents and the latter's breakdown over it, Tobias killing Carrie, and Julius attempting to rob Gumball, only to turn into a fish and die.
• Nausea Fuel:
  • Gumball kills a rat and eats out of its mouth.
  • Gumball makes Josh drink a "meatshake" like in the original episode. Already pretty gross, but here it's even worse because it's implied that Gumball made it by chewing up the meatball he stole from Alan.
