YMMV / Super Mario.exe

Go To

  • Approval of God: A person by the name of "EW Inventor" created a Triple Trouble Mix (or "Triple Trouble Dario Dix"... yes really) of the mod, with the original creator commenting that he loved it.
  • Creator Backlash: During Luigikid's playthrough of the game, the creator themselves admitted that it "wasn't the best" considering he made it at a young age and that his own creation "disgusted" him.
  • Dancing Bear: The game itself, while enjoyed as an ironic fangame, is also very important as its status as one of the first Mario.exe games ever made.
  • Narm: The attempts to scare the player fall flat due to the odd visuals as well as odd choices makes the game less creepy and more laughable.
  • Narm Charm: With this in mind, this developed an ironic enjoyment from both its lackluster visuals as well as ineffective horror.
  • Nightmare Retardant: Given the game was made by the creator when they were 10 years old, the "scares" aren't... entirely effective to put it lightly.
  • So Bad, It's Good: And how. While the game would've been an average Sonic.exe clone on its own, the poorly done edits/artwork, the ineffective "scares" as well as copious amounts of jank (you have to press Enter on everything in order to advance; including the jumpscares) catapults it into an ironic masterpiece.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Many people despise the game due to it being a one-to-one remake of the original Sonic.exe fangame, with much less quality visuals and scares.
