• Fanon Discontinuity: Most of The Velvet Underground fans abjectly refuse to acknowledge this album's existence due to it effectively being a Doug Yule solo album.
• Mis-blamed: Doug Yule has faced a lot of criticism from fans of the band for this album who accused him of appropriating The Velvet Underground name for himself. Yule for his part was only following the whims of Steve Sesnick, who wanted one more album from the band and barred the rest of the members from participating in the recording.
