- Fanon Discontinuity: A lot of fans dispute whether or not the universe seen at the end of Spider-Men II was a restored Earth-1610, despite Marvel's editorial department saying that it was in an Q&A and Spider-Man: Miles Morales treating it as such; pointing to discrepancies between the pre-Secret Wars Ultimate Marvel Universe and this one, and Bendis' tendency towards Series Continuity Errors. That Venom (Donny Cates) acts like the Ultimate Universe hasn't been restored only fuels further disagreements.
- Just Here for Godzilla: Many people may not be as much interested in Spider-Men II to know about the Miles Morales from the Prime earth, but for the earth-shattering event of the ending: The return of the Ultimate universe!
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The return of the Ultimate universe is just a brief interlude in the ending. Perhaps it should have had a bit more depth, as it left so many questions unanswered. How did the universe return? How did they all react? Which was the reaction to the sudden absence of Miles Morales and his family? Are the X-Men still around? Who is Ultimate Riri and how did she join the Ultimates? And, the most important one... AUNT MAY HAS A BOYFRIEND???
