- Nightmare Fuel: Kenny dies in this episode after the relay he's sent on to disarm Timmy's wheelchair flips over and starts dragging his face across the concrete. It's a good candidate for his most wince-inducing death of the series.
- Unintentional Period Piece: At the end of the episode, Principal Victoria tells Mr. Garrison that "[they] don't hire gay people" and he's demoted to kindergarten teacher in his next appearance. This episode was released back when companies refusing to hire LGBT people was common. Such discrimination would be almost unheard of todaynote and if it did happen, a lawsuit would most likely ensue. It's telling that not even two years later, the main plot of "The Death Camp Of Tolerance" has Mr. Garrison try to purposely get fired for being gay so he can take legal action against the school for millions.
