YMMV / Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor

• Captain Obvious Reveal: Really, who even believed that Allison wasn’t Angela? It’s so obvious, since in the span of three movies she never left anybody alive unintentionally. Not to mention there’s nobody in the past films even named Allison to begin with.
• Fan Nickname: "That Piece of Shit" amongst the Exploding Heads Horror Podcast, fans of the series and horror fans altogether.
• Fanon Discontinuity: Even those who didn’t care for the other sequels consider them in canon with the first film compared to this movie, as those were at least completed and competent movies. Manny horror fans refuse to acknowledge this movie's existence due to its poor plot and even poorer usage of stock footage. Some even claim it should’ve been illegal to release this movie on DVD in the form it was in.
• Narm: The “acting” consists of Dull Surprise from the three “actors”, which is amazing in how incompetent it all is. Allison (aka Angela) suffers the worst, as her narration about the other movies is supposed to come off as dramatic and suspenseful, but comes off as if she’s literally reading off the script in front of the camera! Considering that footage of both Felissa Rose and Pamela Springsteen’s performances as Angela is shown only makes it even worse by comparison.
• Sequelitis: Technically speaking, it’s not even a real sequel, since it’s cobbled together from footage of the past three films with unreleased footage of the real, unmade Sleepaway Camp 4. But since it was given an official DVD release for horror fans to buy and own in their collection, it still counts as part of the franchise. As such, it comes down even harder than Return to Sleepaway Camp on lists of worst horror films for its jumbled-together mess of a story with its terrible mixing of unreleased and old footage.
