• Catharsis Factor: Those who hate Hitomi and her giving Sayaka little time to confess will likely find Sayaka's wraith calling her out for only feeling bad because Sayaka disappeared afterwards and taunting her with the choice of losing her friendship or giving up on Kyousuke rather satisfying.
• Fanon Discontinuity: Being an interquel between the original series and Rebellion that helps set up the latter’s infamously controversial ending, fans who prefer to ignore the existence of that film also do not acknowledge the existence of this series.
• Take That, Scrappy!: Hitomi was not well-liked due to her actions in the original anime. This version of her goes through the emotional wringer, with the Wraith Sayaka calling her out for giving her no time to confess to Kyousuke and wondering if Hitomi wasn't just worried that Sayaka's disappearance would be traced back to her. Sayaka then tells her to give up on Kyousuke or end their friendship. The accusations, plus Sayaka turning into a Wraith in front of her and nearly killing her, break Hitomi completely.
