• Alternate Aesop Interpretation: More so that the "don't judge a book by its cover" moral it aims for on paper, the episode comes across as a clear case of Poor Communication Kills. While the ponies were at fault for presuming "pretty flories are good and ugly crabnasties are bad", the crabnasties were also at fault for not trying to communicate with the ponies. Having the word "nasties" in their name doesn't really help them either. If the two sides had been more willing to speak to one another, the episode's problems wouldn't have happened.
