• Just Here for Godzilla: Fans of the Legion of Super-Heroes were drawn to the fifth issue when it briefly showed the Retroboot version of the team and further implied that their future exists again after so many complaints against Brain Michael Bendis's version of the Legion. The seventh issue drew more fans in when the last page reveals the Legion of Substitute-Heroes, consisting of veterans Rainbow Girl and Stone Boy alongside new member Animal Lad (another Silver Age Legion reject).
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Kyle Knight's inclusion in Helena Wayne's Justice Society was met with much criticism due to the now adult son of Jack Knight modeling himself after his criminal terrorist mother and grandfather with the implication of him being a former supervillain. Even more distressingly, fans asked why Geoff Johns chose to have Kyle emulating his mother Nash due to her having unrepentantly raped Jack in order to conceive their child. Even though Kyle gets killed off before the end of the first issue, it's still the first time in decades the character was mentioned.
