• Awesome Music:
  • All of the Honey Girls' songs and covers can be absolutely amazing bops, as of course they're a band of rockstar animals.
  • The songs of the movie as well as those sung by Ashanti are pretty good, though it's a shame they were associated with that film.
• Fanon Discontinuity:
  • Many fans do not consider the movie as canon because of both the characters' human looks, renaming, and the alteration of whatever lore the girls' had. Though it hasn't been confirmed whether or not the movie is from the same canon as the background of the earlier music videos.
• Memetic Mutation
  • Teeganlight Sparkle ^Explanation Teegan's reboot look has a resemblance to Twilight Sparkle because of her purple fur and her indigo hair having pink highlights.
• Popular with Furries: Given that the Honey Girls are very anthropomorphic even compared to other Build-a-Bears, even furries have taken a liking to this line.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!:
  • Some people, especially those familiar with the 2015-2017 incarnation, were not impressed with the reboot looks of the plushies, finding them cheaper than the previous series with the subtly different style of clothing, shorter stature, and lack of underclothes the girls originally came with.
  • Even the movie was not very well received, receiving a 4.7 out of 10 on IMDb, though some people liked the movie for its moral of teamwork and friendship along with its value. Some people criticized it for several reasons, such as the movie being live action instead of CGI animated, the trio changed into complete humans as well as being renamed, the cliches and boringness of the plot, or simply the overhype of it all.
• Viewer Species Confusion: Some people thought that Teegan was a domestic tabby cat instead of a tiger, which she was confirmed as, due to her triangular ears (as tigers are known to have round ears and are often depicted as having them) and lack of lighter markings tigers typically have.
