• Fanon Discontinuity: For fans who dislike the made-for-DVD movies, as well as the Comedy Central episodes, this episode is considered the last one.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: On the DVD Commentary, when it seemed like this was the end of the series, Matt Groening jokes at the end "See you on the next DVD!"
• Heartwarming Moments: Leela staying to see how Fry's opera ends. It ends with a crudely-drawn Fry and Leela kissing and walking into the sunset together.
  Leela: Please don't stop playing, Fry. I want to hear how it ends.
  • For extra heartwarming: the music starts out kind of crude and somewhat off-tune. The further it goes, the more impressive it gets, until the last few seconds before the credits role have it sounding like how Fry played with the Robot Devil's hands.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The opening caption reads "See you on some other channel!" It was syndicated in 2003 by [adult swim]; brought back in 2008 by Comedy Central; syndicated in over-the-air television in 2011; syndicated in 2017 by Syfy; syndicated in 2021 by FXX; and has outlived the channel-dominated era of television to be once again revived by Hulu.
