YMMV / Crows

  • Fanon Discontinuity: This is how most fans treated Crows: Explode, considered to be the weakest in Crows live action filmography. The lack of Takashi Miike in the director's seat is already obvious, but the fandom also cited the less interesting story and characters compared to the prior two films. It also doesn't help that the film's continuity in the larger Crows canon is pretty vague despite being a direct follow up, making it felt more like Alternate Continuity.
  • Friendly Fandoms: Thanks to the two franchises crossing over, the Crows fans are effectively this with the High&Low fanbase.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: While a pretty well known franchise in its home country, there are several countries where Crows has a dedicated following, such as parts of South East Asia like Indonesia and Thailand, as well as France. The Takashi Miike directed Crows Zero duology is often cited to be their formal gateway, with Indonesia even importing the original manga courtesy of publisher Elex Media Komputindo.
  • Memetic Badass: Megumi Hayashida, better known by his nickname "Rindaman"; the strongest fighter of Suzuran and all of Toarushi. Fans often exaggerates his already badass credentials.
  • Retroactive Recognition: A young Hidenari Ugaki voiced main protagonist Harumichi in the 1994 OVA by Knack Productions. Given his status as a Bit Player during this time, this casting was quite significant.
