• Broken Aesop: Cheung would sometimes chide readers who requested in-comic Rule 34 of the female characters. Yet not only did he draw exactly that outside of Chugworth, he got his start as a hentai artist, and the comic's original concept was very much adults-only, which set certain expectations for it. (To say nothing of the snuff porn he drew on commission both during and after Chugworth. No, really—say nothing.) The most overt instance of this chiding, a strip of Sally directly telling off the audience, shot itself in the foot by having her wear a sexualized outfit.
• Values Dissonance: It would be faster to count the strips that didn't age poorly in some manner.
