• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Is Rosário a good person who gets too caught up in her dreams or a selfish jerk?
  • Is Cida an Extreme Doormat or The Ingenue?
  • Does Fabian start to like Rosário only because of her newfound fame and unattainable status (as she never gets over Inácio) or because he truly comes to appreciate her talents (beyond cooking)?
• Draco in Leather Pants: This trope could've been named Chayene in Glittery Wear, as main villain Chayene is frequently cut some slack in fan spaces due to her charisma and humorous behavior, despite mistreating almost everyone she meets and planning to end the protagonists' career.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Maria do Perpétuo Socorro Cordeiro de Jesus, a.k.a Socorro, Chayene's number one fan and personal maid. Due to her loony behavior and scheming nature she quickly won over the fans, which made the writers give her more room in the telenovela.
• Fanon Discontinuity: Some fans like to pretend Penha never got back with Sandro in the end, dating either Otto or Gilson.
• Hollywood Pudgy: Chayene bemoans her "lost" fame and mainly her (invisible) weight gain. Hard to believe she's lost her figure when she's played by Cláudia Abreu◊. That's intentional, as Chayene has a very warped sense of self.
• Les Yay: Watchers often pointed out Lygia and Penha had more onscreen chemistry with each other than with their love interests (who, with only some exceptions, mistreated them). The characters even jokingly suggested getting married once.
• Signature Scene:
  • The Empreguetes' video clip singing "Vida de Empreguete". The scene got widespread attention due to being released digitally while being exhibited on the telenovela, generating parodies and homages online (some of them being seen and commented on by the characters in-universe).
  • Cida quitting and leaving the Sarmentos' house with the Empreguetes (and Kleiton) on a limousine during Isadora and Conrado's wedding party. Complete with Cida ditching her maid uniform to show off her Empreguete costume.
• The Scrappy:

• Take That, Scrappy!:
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Ariela's husband, Humberto, cheats on her with Brunessa, and ends up getting her pregnant (and at the same moment his wife is pregnant too). The writers chose the easy way out and Brunessa lost the baby.
• The Woobie:
  • Cida (actually, all the Empreguetes count, but she sticks out the most) who had to work as the Sarmentos' house maid since she was a kid, got constantly mistreated by Ariela and Isadora, lost both parents very young and fell in love with Conrado, who ditched her the moment he realized she was poor.
  • Lygia. The woman finds out her husband cheats on her with their house maids and sexually harassed Penha, her best friend; she almost dies and later her son gets into a coma.
