YMMV / Bloodsucking Fiends

• Ass Shove: Only metaphorical and as a threat (thus YMMV). Jody says she will kick Tommy so far into next week that they have to surgically remove Wednesday from his ass.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment:
  • Shaving the homeless man's huge cat and feeding off it. Arguably it was to show that vampires can indeed feed off animals, even if their blood tastes like cat food.
  • Except it's actually a Chekhov's Gun if you've read Bite Me.
• Contested Sequel: Before it was announced that Christopher Moore was going to write another sequel, called Bite Me (and possibly still!) a popular fan theory was that the only reason You Suck was written as Creator Backlash to the fans that kept bothering him to write a sequel to Bloodsucking Fiends.
• Crazy Is Cool: The Emperor. Because of the fact that he was based on Emperor Norton, who was both extremely awesome and extremely crazy.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Abby Normal's narrations are the only thing saving the second novel, You Suck
  • For that matter "You Suck" itself is considered this for the series.
• First Installment Wins: Bloodsucking Fiends was by far the most popular novel.
• Squick:
  • The description of Jody's horribly burnt hand, the breast implants pushing themselves out, the necrophiliac coroner licking the melted gravy off a presumably dead Jody...
  • The fact Thomas had sex with Jody while she was asleep during the day. Consent issues aside, she was a corpse at the time.
• Take That!: The plot and setup of the second and third books in the trilogy seems like this from Christopher Moore to his fans due to Fanon Dis Continuity and the rather bittersweet turn of the books.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: What might have happened if Jody left San Francisco in You Suck?
• Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The blue hooker in You Suck. She accidentally ingests some vampire blood after being drained by Tommy and becomes a vampire and makes a whole bunch of other vampires out of The Animals.
