YMMV / Angry Birds on the Run

Go To

Due to the extreme Second Season Downfall of this series, this page is split into two lists.

Season 1 or both seasons:

  • One True Threesome: Red/Chuck/Bomb, given how much time they spend together over the season, and how much friendlier and kinder they are to each other at the end compared to the beginning.
  • Tear Jerker: After King Pig drops the phone in the ocean in the Season 1 finale, all three of the birds give up and start crying, since their only way home has been destroyed. Chuck and Bomb did this several times throughout the series, but it was Played for Laughs every time, and Red never did it.
    • Luckily, the mother and daughter happen to have a tablet that the birds can use to get home.

Season 2 only:

  • Ass Pull: This season has a lot of them.
    • The iPad can somehow teleport the birds, pigs and itself to entirely separate places, with the only explanation being that it malfunctioned, which isn't a good enough excuse.
    • Stella and Matilda somehow getting teleported out of the game too.
  • Bizarro Episode: The season is full of them.
    • The worst one is probably S7 "The World is Ours", which shows Bomb and Stella becoming celebrities with absolutely no setup or justification, and then promptly reverting back to normal at the end.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Some fans do not consider Season 2 to be legitimate, due to the sharp decline in quality and lack of a connection between the seasons.
  • Lost in Medias Res: Season 2 starts under a completely different set of circumstances than Season 1 ended with, with no explanation as to what happened in between.
  • Second Season Downfall: Season 2 was much more poorly received than Season 1, due to the massively lowered stakes (e.g. being able to order food from a restaurant despite previously being unable to communicate with humans, and no threat of being replaced), and the complete lack of a transition between the seasons.
