Ethelbert the Tiger is an educational children's nature program originally broadcast on CBeebies with episodes created between 2000 and 2001; and broadcast through reruns until 2010.
The show's main premise revolves around the eponymous tiger cub, Ethelbert, facing a dilemma or problem which is communicated to his human friend Dillip; and the two utilizing a magic waterfall travel to other countries to witness another animal dealing with the same problems and eventually resolving them.
This series includes examples of:
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Most of the animal designs in the show feature exaggerated color palettes; but not particularly always.
- Informed Location: Happens in most episodes. Sometimes the names of specific countries are given; i.e. China or Canada; but other times it's limited more vaguely to continents [the second season is perhaps more guilty of this].
- Recycled Animation: The 'Reindeer' and 'Wolf' episodes use the same snowy background elements and the same introduction animation and music.
- Talking Animal: Ethelbert can communicate with Dillip. As are [mostly] every other species of animal in the show.
