Our host, Megan.
Megan X (born circa 1996) is a British YouTuber on the Autism Spectrum who runs a YouTube channel called I'm Autistic, Now What?. She specializes in content regarding the Autism Spectrum, including her own lived experiences, as well as reactions to Autism-related internet content. She lives in Britain with her husband and son.

You can find her YouTube channel here.

I have Autistic Trope Examples, Now What?:

  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Megan has sometimes chewed out Neurotypical parents whose condescending or infantilizing treatment of children, or whose purposefully flagging their neurodivergent children as Autistic, results in the kids feeling shamed.
  • Animal Motifs: Megan has adopted Snails as one for herself, to the point of using a snail mascot for her "Anti-Social Club".
  • Becoming the Mask: Deconstructed. "Masking", the practice of Autistic people acting like Neurotypicals, is described as being extremely adverse to Autistic people's mental health, and Megan has devoted several videos to some effects of Masking, such as identity crises, mental breakdowns, and loss of energy.
  • Berserk Button: Megan's are infantilizing Autistic people and violating their privacy and/or property rights.
  • The Cameo: Paige Layle often cameos on the channel, whenever Megan reacts to one of Paige's TikTok clips.
  • Cool Teacher: Megan has mentioned off-hand that her day-job is as a dance teacher.
  • The Ghost: Megan's husband is normally this, having only ever appeared on-screen exactly once, and her son has never appeared on-screen even though she's mentioned him multiple times.
  • Good Parents: Megan herself is one, both for her own son and for Autistic children.
  • Hiding the Handicap: One of Megan's videos has her reacting to a Reddit post by a mother who hid her daughter's Autism diagnosis from the daughter for years. Megan is upset about this, explaining how the daughter could have been bullied for being the "weird" kid and denied useful accommodations as a result of not knowing about her Autism diagnosis.
  • Hollywood Autism: Averted. Megan is a YouTuber with a husband and son, and spends multiple videos debunking negative stereotypes about Autism.
  • NEET: Discussed in a video about Autism and unemployment, examining why Neurodivergents have extreme difficulty getting hired.
  • Lost Toy Grievance: Proxy example- One of Megan's reactions involves a married Lesbian who threw out her Autistic wife's plushies because they were getting wet and moldy, then posted about it on Reddit. Megan is absolutely furious when she sees that post, and starts ranting about how she should have just put them through the dryer before they got moldy.
  • Rail Enthusiast: Averted for Megan herself, but discussed as a common Special Interest for Autistic people.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Megan's natural appearance, with long tresses of jet-black hair and pale untanned skin.
  • Reaction Video: Several of Megan's videos are about her reacting to various videos and memes by other Autistic content creators.
  • Sleepy Depressive: Mentioned in one video as a sign of Autistic Burnout.
  • Stock Footage: When talking about herself and her lived experience, Megan will frequently show her childhood videos, whether to show the audience something while she speaks, or to give a visual example of what she's talking about.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Megan can never get enough Pasta.
  • Underdressed for the Occasion: As a kid, Megan prioritized wearing sensory-friendly comfy clothes over her appearance (or conformity to dress norms), frequently resulting in this trope.
  • Uninvited to the Party: Megan gets upset when she reads about A mom who invited everyone BUT the Autistic kid to her son's birthday party. She flat-out states that the mom should have invited only certain close friends instead.
