With that much snarl going on, speculations abounded already in Warren times.

"Vampirella" is not quite her name...
  • ...but the translation of her Drakulon name into Earth language. (Cf. "Kore" from Greek Mythology. Even more so since her mother Lilith calls her "girl", which means the same.) Since it is well known magical theorem that knowing one person's true name gives power over the person, she will keep it secret.
    • Vampirella Vol. 5, issue 11, the writer possibly having read TV Tropes:
    Vampirella: People call me "Vampirella". In my native tongue, the name is something unpronouncable, like a yodel interrupted by a wet fart.
    • If I'm gonna guess, it may or may not be something like "Vodelepft". (The V in "Vampirella" replacing a standard yodel, plus the "pft", the sound a fart.
