Silent Hill f is an upcoming horror game and part of the Silent Hill universe. It was first announced during the 2022 Silent Hill Transmission event byKonami with a teaser trailer though no new details have been revealed as of this writing.
Developed by NeoBards Entertainment (Resident Evil Resistance), the game's story is being written by Ryukishi07with monster designs being done by kera (Spirit Hunter).
Tropes present in this work:
- The '60s: The time period of the game.
- Botanical Abomination: Whatever's affecting the town is shown to be plant-like in nature.
- Breaking Old Trends: While several previous entries have been set outside of Silent Hill, this marks the very first time a game in the series is set within the franchise's country of origin.
- Call-Back: The music that plays at the title reveal is a traditional Japanese take on the theme song of Silent Hill.
- Facial Horror: The Wham Shot at the end of the teaser shows that various flowers have bloomed from the woman's face
- Floral Motifs: The teaser displays a large amount of Red Spider Lilies as well as the flowers in Facial Horror as mentioned above.
- Nothing Is Scarier:
- Nothing is shown of what attacks the school girl in the trailer as she's struggling to get away from.
- As the screen fades to white after the aforementioned Wham Shot, squelching and crackling noises can be heard, leaving it up to the viewer's imagination of what the Facial Horror might further entail.
- Shout-Out: The way the school girl walks while holding a lead pipe at one point in the teaser mirrors how a certain character behaves at a late point in the anime adaptation of Higurashi: When They Cry.
- Single Tear: Occurs with the woman at the very end of the teaser.
