Bible Buffet is a board game video game developed by Wisdom Tree and released in 1993 for Nintendo Entertainment System. Only based loosely off The Bible, the game puts up to four players in a food-themed board game where they are tasked with playing the occasional minigame or answering a pop quiz question. The game's only Bible-themed content comes in the form of the pop quizzes but only if you happen to have the game's manual where the questions are listed. The "action" stages employ a top-down, The Legend of Zelda gameplay style that was first used in Wisdom Tree's Spiritual Warfare.
Tropes:
- Alliterative Title: The label emphasizes it by having both words share their first B.
- All There in the Manual: The pop quiz questions can only be found in the game's manual, so good luck on the quizzes unless you have a copy of the manual or an online walkthrough handy.
- Anthropomorphic Food: As you can see in the box, there are walking food characters in the game, they serve as enemies who will attack the player character in the levels.
- Collision Damage: Every enemy hurts the player on contact.
- Everything Trying to Kill You: The numerous food enemies will attack the player in each of the mini-levels.
- Level Ate: The entire game is food-themed and has areas such as "Salad Land", "Potato Land", "Pizza Land", and "Dessert Land".
- Thou Shalt Not Kill: Averted in the minigames as one of the usable items is an exploding oil barrel that can kill nearby enemies.
- Unintentionally Unwinnable: It is possible during the minigames to accidentally move one of the destroyable items into the level exit. If you do, it cannot be pulled back out leaving the game unfinishable. Such happened to the AVGN during his review of the game.
