"Once again, we welcome you warmly, and thank you for joining us in Ed Greenwood's Forgotten Realms campaign setting: The greatest fantasy creation of our time."

BGTSCC (full name Baldur's Gate: The Sword Coast Chronicles) is a roleplaying persistent-world server for Neverwinter Nights 2. It is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, centered on the city Baldur's Gate and its surrounding areas. (Sshamath for Underdark players.). It has been running since April of 2009, with a small volunteer staff team recruited from the player base.

BGTSCC contains examples of:

  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: In an RPG setting, you're going to see these. With enhancement bonuses to weapons and Weapon Specialization feats, anything can become this.
  • Back from the Dead: With the Raise Dead and Resurrection spells, this is quite common.
  • Casual Danger Dialog: Again, very common. Justified, as the situations adventurers get themselves into are no more dangerous than their daily routine.
  • An Adventurer Is You: The world has over 350 maps, many of which are dungeons, and most of which contain enemies. Adventuring is the only way to advance your character in power within a reasonable length of time.
  • Curbstomp Battle: When a low- or mid-level player wanders into an epic zone or fights a higher level character, generally.
  • The Day of Reckoning: Usually when the year's metaplot comes to an end, with one (or more) huge 'final battle' DM events.
  • Disney Death: Again, very common with Raise Dead and Resurrection.
  • Gender Bender: With not one, but at least THREE characters in the history of the server having undergone a gender change for one reason or the other, the game is a right fit for the name: Baldur's Gate. If only girdles of masculinity and femininity were a possible loot.
