• Unusual Chapter Numbers: Not the numbers themselves, but their relatively scarce number. Previous Connelly novels have had chapters numbering into the thirties and forties. This one doesn't even break a dozen. It's particularly jarring in audiobook form, when the narrator announces "Three" and you notice you've been listening for over five hours.
