  • Follow the Leader: In the aftermath of the video's release, a number of other people in other countries made similar videos, such as Falz's "This is Nigeria" and IN-Z's "This is Iraq".
  • Shrug of God: Glover's response when asked about his purpose behind the song in an E! interview? Quote, "I just wanted to make a good song. Like something that people could play on Fourth of Julys." Obviously, like with everything else in the song, people gave meaning to this, that Gambino was commenting on how lots of people will take the song and play it as a celebration of America, seeing it as just a good song and not understanding its meaning like they don't understand the varied cultures of America and the ignored histories that they maybe shouldn't be celebrating (a la Martina McBride's "Independence Day" or Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA")
