• Patti Smith is a huge fan of this book. She writes in her book M Train that she discovered Murakami while looking for the latest Henning Mankell mystery novel in the bookstore. She says it's one of those books where "the writer seems to infuse living energy into words as the reader is spun, wrung, and hung out to dry."
