  • Accidentally-Correct Writing: The novel predicted many things about the state of baseball in the span of 1985 to 1988, but the most correct predictions were that the Dodgers would lose to the San Francisco Giants in their 1988 home opener, and would later play in the 1988 World Series.
  • Creator's Oddball: David Ritz mostly writes biographies, particularly of musicians.
  • He Also Did: In addition to being a prolific music biographer and a former critic for Rolling Stone, David Ritz is also credited as a co-writer of the lyrics to the 1982 Marvin Gaye song "Sexual Healing."
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: While no means difficult to find, the book has been out of print since the early 1980s, and no ebook edition currently exists.
