Trivia / The Dick Tracy Show

Go To

  • Art Shift: In largest part averted. The three studios that UPA farmed out episodes to (Jack Kinney, Larry Harmon and Grantray-Lawrence) kept uniform with the characters' designs (Tracy's design in "Red Hot Riding Hoods" notwithstanding).
  • Edited for Syndication:
    • More edited for DVD—the original run of the show had two openings. The first had a driver's perspective of the police car careening towards some startled citizens; the other had Tracy in the passenger side of the car aiming his gun at the camera with three sets of villains appearing in the gun's barrel with a gunshot per set. The second opening is completely absent from the DVD set.
    • As noted, the series omitted episodes with Joe Jitsu and Go-Go Gomez when the show was re-syndicated in 1990.
  • The Other Darrin: Mel Blanc initially voiced Flattop and B.B. Eyes; Paul Frees would replace him as the two villains later in the series. Likewise, Mel voiced Sketch Paree early on and was replaced later with Benny Rubin (Joe Jitsu's voice).
    • In the crossover with Mr. Magoo, Marvin Miller replaced Benny Rubin as Pruneface while Howard Morris voiced the Brow, Oodles, the Mole and Flattop. The only villains voiced by their original actor were Itchy and Mumbles, by Jerry Hausner.
