Acting for Two: William Hope voices both Mikhail and Dr. Bard.
Ascended Fan Nickname: "Mr. X" was a Fan Nickname for the Tyrant from Resident Evil 2. While still officially categorized as a Tyrant in Resistance, Daniel Fabron can also introduce him as "Mr. X".
While the direct connection between 3 and Resistance was unknown, images of the title screen were leaked about one week prior to the State of Play, leading many to assume that there would be a trailer for 3 at The Game Awards, which took place a few days after the then-unannounced State of Play.
French retailers leaked physical copies of the game on March 21, 2020, nearly two weeks before its release date. However, Capcom took action by warning streaming sites to take down anyone's accounts who shows the full game online.
Fake Russian: Canadian actor William Hope voices the Russian Mikhail Victor, and Englishman Neil Newbon plays Nicholai.
The Other Darrin: Much like the remake for 2, the cast was replaced in order to make the remake its own thing.
Jill's "last ride out of town" question at the train station is a mixture of this and Left It In because Nicole Tompkins claimed she didn't flub the line in the other takes of that scene, yet the take where she did was used.
During filming, Nicole Tompkins suggested Jill replies to Carlos' walkie-talkie offer with "I know what a radio is" to add to their tension and because it came off unintentionally condescending, joking that Carlos "just mansplained" a radio in interviews. (Fridge Brilliance: Jill was in charge of STARS' communications sector, so yes. She would know what a radio was.)
The Live Selection mechanic from the original game was going to be included in the remake, but was eventually scrapped in order to provide a more cohesive story. Similarly, the Grave Digger boss had concept art, showing that the devs did have plans to include it but ultimately scrapped the idea.
Documents taken from the Capcom hack indicate certain plot changes occurred during development. Early campaign timelines indicate Jill initially was supposed to visit the RPD like in the original game, and Nemesis would have had a shirtless form similar to the original game.
Some unlockable conceptart shows alternative designs for Nemesis and his weapons, such as him wielding a Gatling gun rather than his signature RPG or wearing something resembling a soldier's uniform. These designs ultimately didn't make the cut, with Nemesis instead using a flamethrower, then his original RPG and a crude trenchcoat while in humanoid form.
