Trivia / Five Nights at Wario's: Cabin Fever

Go To

  • Ascended Fanon: Lou, a Cabin Fever community meme, became a secret entity on the Classic Mode recode. In order to access him, the player needs to set all characters to 0 during custom night. His behaviour is identical to Cabin Bowser, except it will continuously reset everytime its completed (oh yeah, you'll be doing this for the entire night nonstop as well). In his extras description, it's implied Lou was a mistake the developer left in, and that he keeps forgetting to delete him.
  • Creator Backlash: It's impossible not to talk about the reputation and consequent aftermath of the release of Chapter 2, as it became a major turning point for Tagey and his team. Following the initial release and eventual removal of the game, Tagey mentioned his distaste over the way Chapter 2 ended up being released, not only blaming himself for blindly accepting the fact the fangame was worth releasing despite the buggy and unfair state, but also going to consider the game worse than Five Nights at Wario's: Custom Room Edition (another game he developed in the past which haves quite a lot of Old Shame). Following the meltdown Tagey made a comment on Gamejolt lamenting how the game ended up getting a lot of views and attention around many popular Youtubers who play fangames, stating how he felt bad about it due to the awful state it was released. Despite these comments and the distaste from him and the team, Tagey ended up reuploading the original game months later, stating that the reason was for a self-reflection and a lesson for future fangames developers to learn.
  • Disowned Adaptation: Related to the above trope, the game left quite a sour taste on the community for how it was delivered by Tagey and the team.
    • The difficulty of the game led many to call for continuous nerfs and balancing so as not to make it impossible to beat, which was on the reasons Tagey and their team took down the game.
    • The way Katie death was shown became a quite heated discussion online. While it's nothing new having characters dying in a game like this, the way it was shown made a lot of people angry for how overly Darker and Edgier the whole tone was, with the view of her death being nothing but a pile of flesh and bones on the ground. This was heavily toned down for The End, where while still remaining dead, the team gave Katie a proper second chance.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Following the original removal of Chapter 2, many people posted mirrors of the game download. Tagey reuploaded the game officially only months later, with one of the reasons being that he felt bad for people to reupload his game despite hating how it came out.
  • Referenced by...: Lugig5 added a parody of the original Chapter 2 in the third entry of Five Nights at Lugig5's, Five Shows at Lugig5. The concept of the game is very similar to the original, albeit being only one long night and utilizing entirely hand-drawn sprites instead in style of his Lugig games. Beating the mode will reward the player with Maw holding a tophat in one of his hands, referencing two monsters previously made by Tagey.
    • In 2024, Lugig5 released another parody game in the same style as the above, called Suburban Legends, parodying Urban Legends from The End.
  • What Could Have Been: Too many to the point it deserves its own page.
