Trivia / Feeding the Trolls

Go To

  • Approval of God: Weasel loved a video one of the trolls he covered, AdvancedEdition, made in retaliation towards him.
  • Creator Backlash: If his episode on an old vlog of his is to be believed (especially since he's playing a Mirror Universe version of himself there), Weasel regrets his rambling complaints about his experience in a Panera Bread.
  • Creator Breakdown: The entire show was created because Weasel had a shitty day.
  • Dear Negative Reader: Some of the trolls Weasel covers, such as the CoD Enlightment Army and Caiden Cowger, often drop by in the comments section to berate him for making fun of them.
  • Harpo Does Something Funny: The episodes that do not have some kind of plot going on are performed this way. Weasel plays the episode on his laptop on-set and pauses it every time he comes up with something funny.
  • Missing Episode: The original feeding of James the Preacher for his video on the Sandy Hook shooting. It was originally going to be released as the 28th episode, but both Weasel and the fans believed that releasing the video so close to the tragedy would be in bad taste. This resulted in Weasel feeding illuCodnati for the 28th episode instead and later remaking the James feeding as the 33rd episode. All that is known about the original episode is that Weasel rage quits at the part where James blames the shooting on mothers not staying at home and that it was going to feature a scene in which Weasel burns a cardboard replica of James that was never filmed.
    • At the start of episode 102 (Gazi Kodzo), Weasel states that he won't be uploading episode 101 due to the subject of that episode (Gorilla199) dying before he got a chance to release it. He uploaded it the next day, albeit with a forward explaining his reluctance to do so and still referring to it as a lost episode.
  • Schedule Slip:
    • His Starship Troopers game review is the ultimate in this, as he foreshadowed reviewing it over four years ago and hasn't yet posted a video on it. This has been brought up twice in his videos. Considering how long it's been since the game was openly referenced, chances are Weasel has zero intention on actually reviewing it.
      • He finally reviewed the game on Sep 17, 2016.
    • Certain episodes of Feeding the Trolls itself, through a combination of school, illness and a NASTY case of BSOD in his main computer.
    • The series took a brief hiatus due to internet troubles.
  • Throw It In!:
    • The CoD Enlightenment Army apparently take some ideas from the people mocking them. When Weasel joked about id Software going back in time so that they could make the first First-Person Shooter instead, a later video incorporated that into their teachings.
    • According to a Q&A video, Weasel stated that most of the jokes in the videos are improvised, mainly working off of watching the video and pausing it when he comes up with a riff, hence why there are occasional instances where Weasel makes a failed joke, then lampshades it immediately after.
      • Lampshaded the most in his video on blake3one6, where Weasel fails a joke twice, then questions to someone offscreen (presumably no one) why he can't do second takes. The failed jokes were due to him filming the episode early in the morning
