• Awesome, Dear Boy: Robin Wright was instantly drawn to the film when director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo told her what kind of story it would be.
• Friendship on the Set: Wright struck an Intergenerational Friendship with Millie Bobby Brown, commenting she would sometimes feel amusingly motherly to her. As Brown's role required her to be perpetually barefoot, Wright called for her to be issued flip-flops and forced her to wear them between takes.
• Meaningful Release Date: This unashamedly feminist film was released, appropriately, on International Women's Day.
• Release Date Change: The film was originally set for release on 13th October 2023, but due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes impacting the film's promotion, its release was pushed back to 8th March 2024.
• What Could Have Been: The dragon went through several different designs. In a few early designs, the dragon was a four-limbed creature with her wings being attached to her forelimbs, while in the final version she's six-limbed with her wings attached next to her shoulders. The appearance the dragon's head also differed; in one alternate design the dragon's was flatter and wider with smaller horns, and in another the dragon had four large horns across her head and more mammalian facial features.
